Originally produced as a medicine, by the 1600s, the Dutch were already mass producing gin in large quantities across hundreds of distilleries in the city of Amsterdam alone. It was distributed by medical stores for the treatment of difficult ailments such as gout and dyspepsia.

In the modern era, gin has caught on with people showing a resurgence in its popularity as the cocktail culture went mainstream in recent years. India especially recently saw a boom in craft breweries across the country and now with the gin craze and a conscious lifestyle slowly picking up, we have reason to believe that Sober times are almost here.
